A Quiet Photo Spot Near Sensoji Temple

When people think of photo spots in Asakusa,
places like Kaminarimon Gate, the main hall of Sensoji,
or the purification fountain usually come to mind.

Many visitors stand in the same places,
pointing their cameras in the same direction.

But as you walk around,
you sometimes come across a place that makes you think,
“People are taking photos here too.”

Near Yokyodo Hall, there is a small bridge.
It’s not a famous spot,
yet people naturally stop, quietly taking photos one after another.

Photo spots in Asakusa
are not limited to places listed in guidebooks.
Places where people instinctively pause
are also photo spots in their own way.

A Small Pond Seen from the Bridge

From the bridge, you can see a small pond
that feels very Japanese and beautifully designed.

Although the space is quite small,
the charm of both the bridge and the pond is packed into it.

It made me think, once again,
how skillfully Sensoji Temple presents its spaces.

This area has clearly become a photo spot as well,
with many people stopping on the bridge
to quietly press the shutter.

A Small Waterfall Hidden in the Pond

If you look closely,
you’ll notice a small waterfall at the back of the pond.

When we hear the word “waterfall,”
we often imagine something large and powerful,
but this gentle one has its own charm and sense of calm.

Below the waterfall,
red and white koi swim slowly,
creating a peaceful and soothing scene.

Feeding the Koi Is Not Allowed

A sign near the pond explains
that feeding the koi is not permitted.

It’s easy to understand the temptation,
but for water quality and the health of the koi,
this rule is important.

Here, instead of reaching out,
it’s better to simply enjoy watching quietly.
